    Dave Fennell

    Dave Fennell has just retired from his roles as the Senior Safety Advisor for Imperial Oil and the Senior Technical Professional for Safety for ExxonMobil.

    Dave has a BSc. in Environmental Sciences from McMaster University, a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP). He worked for Imperial Oil for 34 years, spending 29 of those in safety. Dave has developed approaches to safety management that have produced results which are widely recognized and have been featured in safety management videos that have been used by companies around the world. He is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Alberta on Behaviour Based Safety and on Human Factors in Engineering and Safety.

    Dave worked extensively with the ExxonMobil Human Factors Center of Excellence and developed workshops and training material on Human Factors that are used within Imperial and ExxonMobil and also at the University of Alberta.

    Dave was named the Canadian Safety Professional of the Year by the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering in 2013.

     

    Jamie Hall, SAFE Work Manitoba

    Jamie Hall is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SAFE Work Manitoba, the unified public prevention organization responsible for promotion and delivery of services related to workplace injury and illness prevention in Manitoba. A former Manitoba Hydro executive, Jamie held a number of positions, most recently as Division Manager of Rural Distribution Engineering and Construction. He also led Manitoba Hydro’s Corporate Safety and Health Program for six years.

    Jamie also brings his knowledge of safety and health from the not-for-profit sector, serving for over ten years on the Board of Directors of Safety Services Manitoba.

    As COO of SAFE Work Manitoba, Jamie is excited to be a part of the transformation and strengthening of Manitoba’s safety community which will result in a dramatic decline in worker injury and illness.

    Jamie holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA with a specialty in Human Resources.

     

    Shilo Neveau, Neuman Thompson

    Shilo Neveu practices in the area of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) law. He has been in private practice, obtained his Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation (and is one of four lawyers in Canada to do so), worked closely with government OHS regulators, occupied Senior OHS positions within companies, and is a renowned speaker and lecturer on the topic of investigations. Shilo has performed many serious incident investigations throughout Canada. His expertise, advice and insights on OHS matters are well sought after.

     

    Paula M.A. Campkin, MBA, CRSP, ICD.D

    OHS Executive and Board Governor, BCRSP

    As Vice-President of Industry Development and Chief Safety Officer for Enform, Paula provides strategic leadership over the development of safety training and initiatives to reduce injury and illness in the Canadian oil and gas industry.

    Prior to joining Enform in 2007, Paula gained valuable experience in the in the areas of human resources and environmental health and safety working in the oil and gas, construction and utilities sectors.

    Paula holds a bachelor degree (BA) in psychology from the University of Calgary and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Haskayne School of Business. She also holds certificates in occupational health and safety from the University of Alberta and project management from SAIT.

    Throughout her career, Paula has attained the following professional designations: Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP); Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP); Canadian Risk Management (CRM); and Institute of Corporate Directors Designation (ICD.D).

    Paula has served as a Governor on the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) since 2013 and is the outgoing chair of BCRSP professional conduct and enforcement committees. In January 2016, Paula assumed the executive role as Secretary-Treasurer of the BCRSP.
